Truck Driver Mental Health — Welcome to the first edition.

We often talk about safety, compliance, equipment, routes, and productivity, but we do not always talk about the person behind the wheel. Drivers deal with long hours, pressure, fatigue, isolation, and time away from family. Those challenges can affect mental health, job performance, and road safety. In this first edition, I share my point of view as a truck driver and talk about why mental health should be part of every safety conversation. I also discuss real solutions drivers and companies can use to create a healthier, safer, and more supportive work environment. My goal with this newsletter is to bring awareness, start honest conversations, and give respect to the men and women who keep this industry moving every day.

Amarillo, TX
Spring 2026
A care package, a conversation, a changed afternoon.
Marcus had been driving for 22 hours when we met him at a fuel island outside Amarillo. We shared a bag, a verse, and ten quiet minutes. He drove off saying it was the first time he'd been prayed for in years.

Effingham, IL
Winter 2025
Snowed in, but never alone.
A January storm grounded dozens of rigs at a truck stop on I-70. Volunteers handed out hot coffee and devotionals until the plows came through. One driver kept the note from his package in his cab.

Fall 2025
From the road to the pew.
After a year of conversations at a regular stop, a long-haul driver named Jess told us she'd found a church near her home base. 'You all reminded me God hadn't forgotten me out here,' she said.

Summer 2025
The handwritten note that traveled 3,000 miles.
A driver carried a note from a volunteer in Georgia all the way to California. He sent us a photo of it taped above his visor. 'Reads it every sunrise,' he wrote.
